ABOUT
I’m MaCaleb,
a native of sequestered northern New York, who will travel at any given opportunity. Growing up in a rural world ravaged by poverty, I am consistently fascinated by the expansive lives in which we all live, and spend much of my time observing and digesting from the material to the impalpable world all around us. In my artistic endeavors, I find it best to be an agent of positive energy, recognize and combat bias and be capable of constant self-reflection and willingness to ever evolve and expand. By navigating my collaborations with emotionality, playfulness, peculiarity and mindfulness, I aim to produce nuanced and provocative work. I find costume and props creation to stimulate the reflections I have from observing our world and I share and present this process with others through physical manifestations of clothes and objects. Sharing the things that we choose, directly or indirectly, to represent ourselves with those around us is vital insight that I use during my process when exploring character and relationships.
Painting and creation is a tool for me to explore observations through my subconscious and innate vibes. Deepening my connection with myself and hopefully the humans and world around me. I will always be willing to explore and be adventurous in creating, designing, traveling, collaborating, and self-actualization.
Recent work can be seen at The Hangar Theatre, Ithaca College, The Cherry Arts, SUNY Potsdam Community Performance Series
